Why the Religious Language? California banned
short term health plans. The only option we have that can start mid-month (as
early as midnight following enrollment) is a health sharing plan. These were
created as an exemption to the ACA (Affordable Care Act) on a
religious basis.
This is the only way they're able to exist outside of ACA plans. OneShare is the
most flexible in terms of requirements.
In California, this is one of the few options we have for coverage that can start midnight following enrollment.
